What is InfoSocial?
InfoSocial is the graduate student research conference of Northwestern University’s Media, Technology, & Society (MTS) doctoral program. The two-day event brings together rising graduate talent from across disciplines whose research pushes the boundaries of scholarship on all aspects of the network society.
Held in 2012 and 2013, and back again for 2017, the conference is dedicated to showcasing theoretically engaging, methodologically sound, and socially relevant work across disciplines. Contributions have included work from communication and media studies, information science, computer science, science and technology studies, human-computer interaction, sociology, psychology, political science, and anthropology.
InfoSocial 2017
InfoSocial has returned for 2017, to be held on Northwestern’s Evanston campus on April 7 & 8. The focus in 2017 is on new theoretical and methodological approaches that allow us to cross disciplines in the pursuit of groundbreaking scholarship on the new media and information infrastructures that undergird contemporary society. We seek research papers authored by graduate students within and between fields including communication and media studies, information science, computer science, science and technology studies, human-computer interaction, sociology, psychology, and political science.
